Singing a lease agreement is not a simple thing to do, there are various things that must be consider before signing a lease agreement. It is an agreement between a company and you. Before signing a lease agreement for home or apartment, it is very important to be polite with the person who is giving the lease. Most of the people want to make changes that suit them and for that you have to be polite to negotiate that person so that he/she can listen to you carefully. Politeness make an impact on the other and they try to do much to give you comfort only because of your politeness and humbleness with them.

Broken Damage has to be Mentioned

When you are going to lease a house or an apartment just check it thoroughly that it has any preexisting damage or not and if there is any then ask the landlord to write it in his agreement that he will fix it before handing it over to you. It will save you so that later he will not blame you for that damage. These damages might be of:

  • Broken blinds
  • Damage in the kitchen cabinets
  • Missing the shower tiles
  • Stains in the carpets, etc

Inspect the Place

You also have to inspect the place so that you come to know that all safety and comfort conditions are in good form so that after agreeing the lease agreement you will not find any difficulty that you cannot change.

  • Check the locks of the doors.
  • The apartment has proper space, enough amount of light, passing air easily and various other things that are necessary for living comfortably.
  • The aim of this inspection is to know all the potential issues before signing the lease. If you find any issues that can be resolved then negotiate them with your landlord and ask him to mention them in your lease agreement so that he will not turn over from the agreement. He will have to fix out all the issues before you come into the apartment or after it.

You Have to Know What is Included in Monthly Billing

Some landlords include the utility, parking and some other billings in your monthly rent, so ask them before signing what they have included in your agreement.

Facilities

Some landlords giving health club facilities, discounts on gym that are in the same building. So check what the facilities the landlord has given to you.

Customizing can be Harmful

If you do not like the paint and want to customize new more lights ask the landlord to do it and mention in your agreement as well. If you do customizing by yourself, it is against the lease agreement. No landlord gives you permission to make any changes by yourself.
